It’s that time of year again. EA Sports has released a pool of players that they are considering to put on the cover of this year’s Madden 15, and it is now time for the fans to vote. Spoiler alert, none of the players being considered play for the Rams.
Here is the list of players:
1. CB Richard Sherman-SEA
8. WR Alshon Jeffery-CHI
4. RB Eddie Lacy-GB
5. TE Jimmy Graham-NO
3. WR Demaryius Thomas-DEN
6. LB Luke Kuechly– CAR
2. QB Colin Kaepernick-SF
7. QB Nick Foles-PHI
1. QB Cam Newton-CAR
8. WR Antonio Brown-PIT
4. RB Jamaal Charles-KC
5. WR A.J. Green-CIN
3. LeSean McCoy-PHI
6. WR T.Y. Hilton-IND
2. QB Andrew Luck-IND
7. RB Alfred Morris-RB
The pool already becomes an unfair disadvantage to the Rams considering 10 of the 12 players being considered are offensive players and four of the 12 are quarterbacks. The Rams offense was unimpressive to say the least last season, and their starting quarterback was out for over half the season.
The one players you could really make a case for is defensive end Robert Quinn and of course punter Johnny Hekker, but since the media plays a heavy favoritism to Sherman and Kuechly, there is no surprise that those were the two defenders that were chosen.
Considering this is more of a popularity contest than it is an actual competition, makes it no surprise that no Rams players were even considered to be put on the cover. At least the Rams will avoid the infamous “Madden-Curse”.
Marshall Faulk remains the only Ram to ever make the cover as he was featured on the cover of Madden 2003. To cast your vote for the cover of the new Madden 15, click here.
