The state of Alaska is one of the few in the United States that does not have an NFL team. However, that doesn’t mean that there are no NFL fans in our northernmost state. So, with that being said, who do the fine residents of Alaska prefer in the National Football League.
Why the St. Louis Rams, of course. In particular, they are very fond of linebacker James Laurinaitis.
According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, the Rams are indeed a hit in the state of Alaska, boasting the most sold jerseys. James Laurinaitis is at the top of that list.
Now this is pretty interesting, for a few reasons.
You would assume that with the recent success of the Seattle Seahawks, the residents of Alaska would tend to lean toward the Super Bowl winners, especially given the close proximity. Or, of course, maybe one of the teams in the state of California.
Then again, maybe they just like to root for the underdog, as we know the Rams are in the stacked NFC West.
But as we can see in the graphic above, that is not the case whatsoever, as they prefer the Rams to all the other teams in the National Football League.
Do you maybe have any specific thoughts as to why the Rams might own the state of Alaska in jersey sales. Let us know your theories in the comments section below.
