One thing that always comes up when talking about the 2014 St. Louis Rams is the lack of consistency and inability to put together two games in a row. The only consistent aspects about this team are the Sam Bradford injuries and the fact that they are inconsistent.
The Rams have shown they can hang with the best of the best and give tough teams a run for their money, however, they have not proved that they can beat those teams on a consistent basis and put together back to back impressive wins.
This season, the St. Louis Rams have failed to put two wins in a row, and it has cost them. While they have put together three solid performances the past three weeks against the Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders, they still couldn’t close the game in San Diego.
“Our goal is try to outscore the Redskins, we have to win two in a row.” – Jeff Fisher
The longest win streak in the Jeff Fisher era in St. Louis is only three games and they have only won back to back games on only four different occasions. In fact the Rams are only one of five teams this season that haven’t won back to back games. The others being Tennessee, Jacksonville, Oakland, Tampa Bay, and the New York Jets.
While the Rams did just put together one of the better performances of the season, defeating the Oakland Raiders 52-0, the question still remains can they win two in a row? We know they are capable of winning and closing games, but putting together a string of games is a completely different story.
The St. Louis Rams will have a golden opportunity to put together back to back wins for the first time this season as they travel to Washington D.C. to play the 3-9 Redskins, losers of four straight. In fact, the Rams have a really good shot at winning these next three games, but, as usual with this team, consistency is the key.
