Mel Kiper Mock Draft: St. Louis Rams Go Offensive Tackle

Mel Kiper has released his first mock draft of the season, and while the draft order isn’t officially set and most teams are still really early in their evaluation process, it’s still interesting to look at mock drafts especially coming from Kiper.

With the 10th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select….

"Analysis: The Rams made more strides on defense this year after adding Aaron Donald as a clear “best player available” pick in the 2014 NFL draft, and the defense benefited greatly. But while their No. 2 overall pick, Greg Robinson, goes into 2015 as the starter at left tackle after looking better there for the most part over the last five weeks this season, the O-line still graded out poorly for me overall, and the Rams need to bring in more talent. Clemmings is a player who has come a long way since converting from defense, but he has arguably as high a ceiling as any tackle in this class and won’t need to start his career at left tackle. Quarterback questions persist, but there’s no fix to be found here after the top two guys are off the board. More help up front is needed."

Kiper is spot in with this pick. While Scherff would be the number one option for the Rams, Kiper has the Giants taking him right before the Rams. St. Louis needs to do whatever it takes to sure up the offensive line this offseason and Clemmings does that.

Quarterback would also be an option for the Rams, but Kiper has Winston and Mariota going one-two.

I wouldnt mind seeing the Rams trade back in this situation to get a guy like Andreas Peat. Les Snead traded away a fourth and sixth round pick to get Mark Barron this season and it wouldnt be surprising if he made an effort to get them back.
