2. Starting cornerback position gets interesting

Janoris Jenkins has slotted himself as the number one corner on the Rams roster moving forward, so the team will need to decide upon another starter to play across from him. As camp opened it seemed the favorite to take the second starting corner position was E.J. Gaines. Gaines, now in his second year, was a sixth round pick in last years draft. He filled in nicely last year, starting 15 games and recording 70 tackles and two interceptions. However, reports out of camp are that Gaines was stepped on by another player and needed to leave for further evaluation. Fisher noted that he didn’t think the injury was serious, but this opens the door for some other players to fill the slot. Trumaine Johnson and Marcus Roberson will look to be those players. Johnson had moments of brilliance last year, but also struggled at times. Roberson is a younger player and talk at camp is that he will be someone to watch moving forward.

Next: Tre Mason or Todd Gurley?
