The Rams have one of the best defensive fronts in the game
19 sacks and counting for the St. Louis Rams as they are currently ranked 3rd for the most sacks in the NFL. The packers sit at number two with a slight lead with 20 sacks on the year. For the Rams to make a playoff push, the defensive front needs to continue to play at a high level.
The Rams front four is one of the most elite group of pass rushers in the league today. This front four has created so much trouble for opposing quarterbacks as some of the elite quarterbacks of Russel Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, had trouble staying in the pocket and making mistakes. Rodgers had not thrown an interception at home since 2010, until he faced the Rams.
Also, the Rams run stopping defense has stepped up big the last three games. The Rams held the Packers under 90-yards rushing and stopped Pro Bowl running back Eddie Lacy from churning out the big gains he’s known for. The Rams also held Arizona’s veteran back Chris Johnson to under 100 yards as well. St. Louis also held Le’veon Bell and the Steelers under 65-yards rushing.
They have a formula to stopping the run now, and they need to continue it to become a playoff contending team.
