St. Louis Rams put Alec Ogletree on IR-Return; Cut Jo-Lonn Dunbar
By Alex Alarcon
The St. Louis Rams made some roster moves yesterday, as they have put linebacker Alec Ogletree on injured reserve with designated to return. The Rams opted to hold off on Ogletree to see how his healing would go after his surgery, yet it looks like Ogletree won’t be coming back anytime soon. With Ogletree on the injured reserve with designated to return, he won’t be eligible to play in any games until Week 16. If the Rams would have put Ogletree on the IR when he was about to head to surgery, he could have came back by Week 14. Maybe the Rams were hoping for a miracle after the surgery, or something, but Ogletree is official on the IR-Return.

Ogletree was a key part of the Rams defense, however Mark Barron has stepped up in a huge way and has found his new role in the defense.
Barron totaled 16 tackles last week against the Browns, and showed he could be a
new defensive weapon. Barron talked about his very successful day and new change with the media this past weekend.
Via FOXSports.com"“I’m just playing football , That’s easy to me. I just line up and I know my responsibility. And as long as I know my responsibility, I can do that. It’s not a hard adjustment. It’s just football.”"
Besides Ogletree being put on the IR, the Rams also cut Jo-Lonn Dunbar from the team. The Rams brought back Dunbar after Alec Ogletree suffered a serious injury three weeks ago, but Dunbar never fully got settled in. Dunbar looked to replace Ogletree, yet there seemed to be better plans for the Rams defense. Dunbar’s best year with the Rams came back in 2012 where he finished with 91 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Dunbar was not active against the Green Bay Packers or the Cleveland Brown as Safety Mark Barron has been playing linebacker in Ogletree’s absence. With Barron stepping up and playing a new defensive role, Dunbar was not needed, which led to the Rams cutting him per sources of Nick Wagoner via Twitter.

With Dunbar leaving the team, it left an open slot for the active roster. Please welcome a new defensive tackle to the team. Defensive tackle Doug Worthington was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster. Worthington finished last season with the Rams practice squad after he signed a futures contract. The last time he played in a regular season game was back in 2012 with the Washington Redskins. In six games with the Redskins, he totaled three combined tackles. He made his way into the league by being a seventh round pick back in 2010 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
With Ogletree on IR and Dunbar leaving the team, there is still one more spot on the active roster. Could the Rams bring up wide receiver Nick Toon? Stay Tuned.
