St. Louis Rams falling apart, lose to Baltimore Ravens 16-13

The Rams are now riding a three game losing streak, and it’s not pretty. The St. Louis Rams were all over the place as the Ravens were able to close it out in Baltimore by the score of 16-13. Once again the Rams are dealing with the same problems, and quarterback Case Keenum was unable to give the offense a spark that Jeff Fisher wanted. For the Ravens their string of bad luck stopped today and get some luck from playing the Rams.

Unfortunately for ravens running back Justin Forsett, he suffered a broken arm in the first quarter, due to Aaron Donald getting in the backfield and making a huge tackle. Forsett was about to have himself a day, with early big runs to begin the game, but because of the injury, the Ravens had to rethink their game plan. It was a defensive battle for the first half, as neither team was able to get their offense going. The Rams were able to however score a touchdown on their third offensive drive of the game only because of a huge pass inference call on tight end Jared Cook.

The Rams were able to punch it in from one yard out and gave the Rams an early lead. From then on it was all Ravens, as the Rams had so many opportunities, yet unable to close it out and take it to the Ravens. The Ravens were able to get a field goal the very next drive because of the poor performance of Tavon Austin. Austin mishandled a punt, and gave the ball right back to the Ravens with excellent field position. Another costly mistake that will hurt the Rams in the long run.

St. Louis had a great day however on the defensive side of the ball in a way at times. They made Baltimore punt the ball eight times, intercepted Joe Flacco twice and stopped them once on 4th down. The Rams did make some great defensive plays, but today they could not tackle at all. Missed tackles were happening left and right, but they somehow managed to stop the Ravens and made them punt away. It did not matter if the Rams defense was playing great, because the offense was filled with errors and miscommunications.

The Rams looked to have pull this one away with another solid touchdown drive and throw by Keenum to tight end Lance Kendricks. However another error that would come back to haunt the Rams, would be the poor performance by Greg Robinson. Robinson would not hold his block during the extra point as it too was blocked by the Ravens. The Rams should have a lead of eleven, but a lead of ten would be decent as well. The 4th quarter would come around, as it would be all disaster for the Rams.

Todd Gurley would remind every fan why he is still a rookie and would fumble the ball away right back to the Ravens. Ravens would cut the lead down to three with a solid touchdown drive, which the Rams defense gave the Ravens recievers way to much space and poor tackling. With the offense still not doing anything at all to help close the game out, they punted away as the Ravens had all the momentum. Ravens would put another field goal drive together, as the Rams barley held them to three points.

Somehow the Rams were able to put together a drive, but because of poor play calling and an offensive line unable to block, St. Louis had to settle for a field goal. However Greg Zuerlein was unable to connect from 52 yards out. The same would come for Ravens kicker Justin Tucker as he too would miss from this time 51 yards out and the Rams actually had a chance to win. That chance was very short-lived and Greg Robinson fell asleep and did not even try to block, and Courtney Upshaw got around Robinson for the sack fumble on Keenum. Ravens recovered, couple plays later, Tucker would hit the game winning field goal to send the Rams on a three game losing streak.

Horrible game by the St. Louis Rams filled with errors, penalties, horrible play calls and flat out bad coaching. Keenum had a completion percentage below 50 percent and only threw for 131 yards. Gurley was only able to get 66 yards on 25 carries, as the offensive line was flat out horrible. So many turnovers, as the Rams are falling apart.
