Five Rams selected in 2016 Pro Football Hall Of Fame Semifinalists

The Pro Football Hall of Fame‘s Class of 2016 was trimmed down to 25 on Tuesday during NFL Network’s Gold Jacket Semifinalists special.  Out of those 22 players selected into the semifinalists, 5 of them are Rams, including four from the Greatest Show On Turf. The group of semifinalists includes 22 players and three coaches, with 15 players on offense alone.

The Class of 2016 then will be selected on Jan. 31 from the list of 15 modern-era finalists plus three senior nominees. So who exactly could be heading into the Hall Of Fame as a Ram? Let’s take a look.

Kurt Warner (St. Louis 1998-2003)

The MVP himself, Warner is back on Hall Of Fame watch. Warner was a finalist last year, and could reach it again. Warner played with the Rams for six years, Arizona Cardinals for five, and New York Giants for one year. However Warners best years came with the Rams during his six-year span. Warner would throw for 14, 447 yards with a completion percentage of 66.4. Warner would also add-on 102 Touchdowns with a finish quarterback rating of 97.2 with the Rams. Warner best year came in 1999, when he led the Rams to their first ever Super Bowl Victory. Warner had a season average of a 109.2 quarterback rating, along with being the MVP of the Super Bowl. Warner is a 4-Time Pro Bowler, and also a 2-Time First-Team All Pro

Kevin Greene (Los Angeles 1985-1992)

Greene is no surprise as he enters the Semifinalists for the 10th time. 5 Time pro Bowler, & 2 Time First-Team All Pro, Greene was one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. Greene played 119 games for the Los Angeles Rams and counted for 72.5 sacks, 375 Tackles, 3 Safeties, 11 Fumble Recoveries, along with 2 Interceptions. Besides playing for the Rams, Greene also brought his talent to the Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Francisco 49ers. According to Pro Football Reference, the Fans have voted for the best players, and Greene is currently ranked at 319. Will Greene be inducted in the HOF? Greene has been a HOF finalist the last three years.

Torry Holt (St. Louis 1999-2008)

Holt was the sixth overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams, and with his many highlights, he was clearly a first round pick. Holt played with the Rams for 10 years, and played in 158 games. Holt would receive 869 passes for 12,660 yards with 74 Touchdowns. Holt’s best years would come in 2000 and 2003. In 2000 Holt would have 1,635 receiving yards along with six touchdowns, for an average of 102 yards per game. That total would rise as in 2003, Holt would average 106 yards a game, as he nearly totaled 1,700 yards with his 1696 receiving yards that year. Holt also double his touchdown ratio, and caught 12 touchdowns that year. Holt is a 7-Time Pro Bowler and a 1-Time First-Team All-Pro. This is Holt’s first time reaching the HOF semifinalists.

Orlando Pace (St. Louis 1997-2008) 

The 1st overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft, is reaching closer to finally getting inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. Pace was with the Rams from 1997 through 2008, and ended is career with a one year stint with the Chicago Bears. Pace is a 7-Time Pro Bowler along with being on the First Team All-Pro three times. Pace was also a HOF finalist last year, and could reach that status again. Pace was the best tackles in the league, and held the line in the Greatest Show On Turf. Pace is clearly the best tackle on the ballot, though there are many other skilled tackles on it.

Issac Bruce (Los Angeles/St. Louis 1994-2007)

This is Bruce’s second time being chosen in the semifinalists, and has the history and stats to prove his spot in the Hall Of Fame. As part of the Rams, Bruce totaled 14,109 receiving yards, 84 Touchdowns, along with 150 rushing yards. Bruce caught 942 passes in 197 games with the Rams. Bruce was an elite receiver in the Rams organization, and has been known for his outstanding performance in Super Bowl XXXIV as they beat the Tennessee Titans. Bruce caught six passes for 162 yards along with a touchdown in the Rams first Super Bowl win.

Could this be the year, that the Greatest Show On Turf makes their entrance into the Hall Of Fame?
