On November 24th, 2015 at 8:45 p.m., an absolutely bizarre and tragic series of events resulted in the critical wounds of Stedman Bailey—wide receiver of the St. Louis Rams. The South Florida native and some relatives were shot in a parked car in front of a Miami Gardens residence during a drive-by shooting. Miraculously, Bailey took shots to the head but is considered to be in “stable” condition. Unfortunately, Antwan Reeves—the driver—has gunshot wounds that are life-threatening after reportedly shielding two younger relatives in the back seats of the car.

"“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident [on Tuesday night]. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.” – Official Rams Statement on Stedman Bailey"

The incident occurred when Bailey was back home during his four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. His surgery will likely keep him on the sideline for the rest of the season, but what exactly does the future hold for the promising young wide receiver? Will he come back with a vengeance? Will his production as an athlete cease? Or will he be forced to retire at the age of 25?

Let’s take a look at some possibilities…
