At Texas Tech, Bradley Marquez made the switch from running back to wide receiver with incumbents Eric Stephens and Aaron Crawford taking most of the reps at the position. Not to mention, fellow freshman running back DeAndre Washington was taking many snaps as well. It was just too crowded for the 5’11, 203 pound Marquez to make an impact at running back.
It took a long time for Marquez to adapt to a new position that required him to run routes and catch footballs on a consistent basis. By his senior season in 2014, Marquez developed a great relationship with starting quarterback Davis Webb, compiling 821 yards with 10 touchdowns on 65 receptions.
"“[Bradley Marquez is an] incredible human being… he’s why you get into coaching… One of the most hardest working, respectful, unselfish players I’ve ever been around.” – Head Coach of Texas Tech Football, Kliff Kingsbury"
Since he had already bypassed the opportunity to play professional baseball, Marquez decided to pursue another professional career in the 2015 NFL Draft.
