Defense wins championships. A common saying heard around every football team today around the world. Each team in the NFL has their own defensive ace, where probably offensive coordinators stay up forever trying to figure out how to stop this monster.

The St. Louis Rams in particular have struck gold in grabbing defensive stars in the draft, free agency or trades. For example, The Rams have started to rebuild their defense by drafting outstanding players early on in the Draft. Defensive End Chris Long, was selected in the first round in the 2008 draft, and as played an important role in this Rams defense ever since. Captain middle linebacker James Laurinaitis was selected by the Rams in the 2nd round in the 2009 draft, and has just recently recorded 1,000 career tackles.

So when defensive tackle Aaron Donald out of the University of Pittsburgh was selected in the 1st round of the 2014 draft, clearly the Rams had a plan for him. St. Louis clearly saw something in him that made him a special player.

In his second year in the NFL, Donald has already made a name for himself, and has been in the mix of Defensive player of the year. So who in the world is Aaron Donald? Let’s take a look at the St. Louis Rams’ Defensive Ace
