It’s not even February and the draft smoke and “reports” are starting like a wildfire. With general managers and reporters all together in one place at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, it is hardly a surprise that the reports would start this week.

This will be the first of many “reports” as well as the first of many trades that the Los Angeles Rams are supposedly involved in. This one comes from Bleacher Reports draft expert Matt Miller. According to Miller,

"“The biggest buzz to come out of Mobile is that the Tennessee Titans are absolutely shopping the No. 1 pick in the draft. The teams most likely to be interested? According to general managers I’ve spoken with from competing teams, the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams (with two second-round-picks).”"

While the Rams do have ammo to move up, it doesn’t seem likely that they would move all the way from the 15th overall pick to number one, unless it’s for a bargain deal. The Washington Redskins traded three first round picks and a second to the Rams to move up from the sixth overall pick to the second overall pick.

Using that as a frame of reference, the price to move up from 15 to one would be astronomical and something that general manager Les Snead and head coach Jeff Fisher would not be willing to do. It’s easy to see why the Rams would want to move up as they are in desperate need of a quarterback. With Carson Wentz being available and rumored to go to the Browns at number two, they could try to jump Cleveland and get to number one.

According to Miller,

"“Whether the Cleveland Browns keep the No. 2 pick in the draft or trade up, the expectation from NFL sources is that they will target a quarterback. I’ve heard all week from team scouts that they prefer the big arm of Carson Wentz over the accuracy and poise of Jared Goff.”"

As mentioned earlier, the Rams do have ammo to move up with two second round picks and they very well could trade them away. However, it would be more likely to try and trade into the top ten or even try to trade back into the first round.
