Playing in his first Pro Bowl as a rookie, Los Angeles RamsTodd Gurley scored his first touchdown of hopefully many in the NFL’s all star game. 2nd and 7 from the 10 yard line, set up in the shotgun, Gurley caught a pass from none other than rival quarterback, SeahawksRussell Wilson. Gurley caught the pass then spun out of a tackle on his way to the end zone.

Gurley has just one carry for three yards in the first half to go with two catches for 18 yards. Atlanta Falcons‘ Davonta Freeman leads Team Irvin with four carries. It has been a pass happy game as the team has just nine rushing attempts to nineteen passes. Hopefully with Minnesota VikingsTeddy Bridgewater now at quarterback, Gurley gets more looks on the ground.

Also making headlines for the Rams was punter Johnny Hekker. Hekker, who is known for his trickery and throwing ability, completed a ten yard pass to, ironically, Seahawks’ Tyler Lockette for the first down. On top of that, he drew it over Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

On the defensive side of things, defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been pretty quite as he has just one tackle.

At the end of the first half, Team Irvin leads Team Rice 28-14 lead by Wilson’s three touchdown passes and 164 yards. Also scoring touchdowns for Team Irvin are Julio Jones, Darren Sproles, and Freeman. Meanwhile, on team Irvin, Travis Kelce, who just signed a contract extension, has his teams two touchdowns.

It was a big half for the Rams with Todd Gurley and Johnny Hekker getting involved, hopefully the second half goes just as well for the blue and gold.
