It’s only a matter of time before the Cleveland Browns cut former first round pick Johnny Manziel. To say the experiment failed would be an understatement. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Browns will cut the quarterback as soon as the new league year starts on March 9.

The Browns released a statement saying,

"“We’ve been clear about the expectations for our players on and off the field. Johnny’s continual involvement in incidents that run counter to expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time.”"

Manziel has continuously gotten in trouble whether it be alcohol, partying, not showing up to meetings, etc. It’s no surprise that the Browns have had enough as they have given him more than enough second chances.

By the looks of it Manziel will be cut, and according to Ed Werder of ESPN, the Los Angeles Rams are said to be a team who would be interested in signing the quarterback.

The Rams are in need of a quarterback to at the very least come in and compete for the starting job. However, they had not one, but two chances to draft him in 2014 and passes instead to draft Greg Robinson and Aaron Donald. Robinson has been unspectacular, but Donald has been rookie of the year and two time pro bowler.

If they can get him for a cheap price, it wouldnt be surprising if the Rams brought him in for a look, but the feeling is that he’ll end up with the Dallas Cowboys. Owner Jerry Jones almost pulled the trigger in 2014, but was talked out of it and instead drafted Zack Martin.

The new league year begins March 9 with free agency set to begin on March 15.
