A big discussion this week has been the comments former Rams coach Mike Martz said, saying it was ridiculous that T.O. leapfrogged Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt into the Hall of Fame. Kurt Warner responded to the comments Tuesday on the Dan Patrick Show and Isaac Bruce went on 101 ESPN to discuss the comments with Chris Duncan and Anthony Stalter. Here’s what Bruce had to say

Chris Duncan: Isaac Bruce is joining us right now. Your former coach, I brought him up, Mike Martz, he had some very strong reaction to Terrell Owens being a finalist this year, in his first year of eligibility, while you and Torry(Holt) really haven’t been given that consideration for the Hall, at least enough in Mike’s eyes and a lot of our eyes too. What was your reaction to what Mike said.

Isaac Bruce: I wasn’t surprised at all. If any of you guys ever got the opportunity, the pleasure of meeting coach Mike Martz and just being around him for a while, you know, he’s a guy that doesn’t really pull punches, he doesn’t sugarcoat things, he’s very up front, and he’ll say whats on his heart, and one thing about coach Martz that’s a lot like coach (Dick)Vermeil, he’s very loyal. I mean, he’s loyal to his guys, especially guys that he helped develop and you know, guys that played for him. He’s very loyal and Im not surprised that he stood up and, you know, voiced his opinion.

Bruce obviously isn’t going to come right out and say that he agrees with Martz as that just isn’t his personality. He’s very unselfish in his demeanor. Bruce basically says that he’s not surprised that Martz stood up for him and said what he said.

The former Rams receiver goes on in the next question to discuss how much better his stats would have been had he not played in the Greatest Show on Turf and Bruce says that he wouldnt have wanted it any other way because those guys helped him win.
