This has been a difficult offseason for some Rams fans while it has been a dream come true for others. For some, they lost a team that meant a lot to their city, while others are getting a team that they lost.

For the players, this hasn’t been easy either as they have taken a lot of heat from the fans of St. Louis on leaving them. While it isn’t their fault or fair that they are getting the criticism, with social media, that’s just the way it is.

Rookie of the year winning running back Todd Gurley gave a little back to the frustrated and hurt fans of St. Louis by dedicating his rookie of the year trophy to them. According to Frank Cusumano of the CBS Sports in St. Louis, Gurley told Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispact, “This is theirs.”

In his rookie of the year speech Gurley said on the nationally televised honors show,

"“I just want to say something to the St. Louis fans. I know you all might be disappointed that we’re leaving. But you know, it’s out of our control and  I still the support the fans.”"

It’s things like this that make Todd Gurley special. While he is a special player on the field, the fact that he made it a point to thank the St. Louis fans in his speech as well as dedicate his rookie of the year trophy, something he worked very hard to get, to them, is what makes him a special player off the field.

Gurley has also said that he is excited to play in Los Angeles and looks forward to hopefully winning in the new city. You can listen to Gurley’s speech below.
