Football season has official hit the offseason and for the Los Angeles Rams, it will be a very important one. There is no doubt that the Rams will be quite busy this offseason with free agency, cutting and re-signing players and with the move to Los Angeles, the spotlight will be put on them.

More from Rams News

There are two important corner backs for the Rams who played a valuable part in the 2015 season, but both are on the free agency market. Both Trumaine Johnson and Janoris Jenkins will be on the market, as the Rams will not be the only team who will be trying to pick up these number one corner backs. It’s rare to see multiple corner backs on the market, as this year could be the year big contracts will be given out.

For example, Darrelle Revis who hit the free agency market, cashed in on a five-year, $70 million dollar deal with the New York Jets the past season. According to Pro Football Focus, last year the Rams had a Top 5 Secondary in the league. Jenkins scored a player rating of 81.3, while Johnson scored a 87.0. Adding onto that, Both cornerbacks are listed as 5th and 6th best cornerbacks in Free Agency as of today. Now it is very likely the Panthers and Chiefs put their franchise tag on their standout cornerbacks Josh Norman (CAR) and Sean Smith (KC) who could put the two Rams cornerbacks as 3rd and 4th best backs on free agency.

Long story short, the Los Angeles Rams will be a different team if they are not able to sign both corners back on the team. The Rams are currently looking at having about $31 million dollars in cap space before the cuts, it will be tough to bring both back. Both corners are going to ask for the big money, but if the Rams were to only bring one back who should it be? Let’s take a look at the two standout cornerbacks.
