Top Five James Laurinaitis Rams Moments
3. Intercepting Brett Favre
A player’s first interception can be special, but when it’s against a future Hall of Famer, its even more special, it’s even more special when that Hall of Famer is playing for the team you grew up rooting for.
In October of 2009, James Laurinaitis got his first interception against Brett Favre who had moved on from the Packers and would go on to a NFC Championship run with the Minnesota Vikings. As a native of Plymouth, Minnesota and former Wayzata High football star, Laurinaitis got his first interception against his favorite childhood team and against a quarterback that gave his team its fair share of troubles. That had to be a special moment.
The Rams would go on to lose this game 38-10 as they went 1-15 in 2009, but this was just one of many big plays Laurinaitis would have with the Rams. This game was when it all started and you could see that number 55 was going to be a special player.
