UCLA’s Wide Receiver Jordan Payton: “I would love to play for the Rams”

With the move back to Los Angeles, the Rams might have the upper hand this free agency with hopeful players looking to start a new career in the city of angels. Already the Rams are getting players who are coming out saying they would love to play in Los Angeles. One of those players would be wide receiver from UCLA Jordan Payton.

Payton will be entering the draft this season, and is hopeful he can stay in Los Angeles to begin his professional career with football. The Los Angeles Rams do need some help on the offensive side of the ball, and Payton did have an excellent career at UCLA. Payton would total 201 receptions, 2,702 reception yards, 14 touchdowns and become UCLA’s all time rec leader.

In 2015 alone, Payton had over 1,000 yards catching with 78 receptions. He only got better every year. Could he continue his successful football career in Los Angeles? Payton joined the team at the NFL Network Head Quarters and answered some questions about his future.

Question 1 “I think every player knows what they’re strong at, in any business they know what their strengths are, but everybody has a weakness, during their game. Is there anything you are trying to work on now to develop into that complete wide receiver”

"” I went to the Senior Bowl and when you go there you play against the best the best seniors in the country. One thing I noticed when I was there was I wasn’t explosive on the ball. And that’s something I came back and worked on. I want to be playing fast all the time” – Jordan Payton"

Question 2 ” I’m curious we are in Los Angeles, you played for UCLA and the news of the Rams moving from St. Louis to here in Los Angeles, what do you think of that? Are you going to be a LA Rams fan?”

"“I think I am an LA Rams fan, it’s been a long time but I’m excited for the city. I heard they’re going out to west lake near my high school so that’s even better. I would love to play for the Rams.” – Jordan Payton"

Payton is a hometown boy, has the ability to become a great receiver in the NFL. Should the Rams look at Payton deep in the draft and select him? According to WalterFootball.com Payton is ranked as the 27th best receiver in the Draft. Could be a sleeper.
