A couple of weeks after the shooting, Bailey was still in the hospital recovering from the head wounds, the future was not looking bright for #12. On December 7th 2015, Jeff Fisher addressed the media about the team, but Stedman Bailey was the main topic. Fisher talked about how Bailey’s career is about over. Fisher said during a press conference that his injuries are career-threatening and is probably done with football

Fisher also noted that Bailey could turn everything around and surprise us.

“There’s a chance he doesn’t play (again), However, based on what he’s done over the last 10 days, he may surprise everybody.” – Fisher

What those 10 days Fisher was referring to was how after six hours of surgery and countless prayer, Bailey was able to write his name and talk to his girlfriend and other family members. Bailey looked at the tragedy and was thankful that he is still alive today. He called it a miracle, and took to twitter to talk to his fans for the first time since the shooting. Bailey was thankful, and soon would get to be with his family.
