The Los Angeles Rams have yet to play a single game since moving back to LA, but they are already starting to pick up some high profile fans while they setting into their new community.

We already know about the excitement expressed by the man that might be the biggest sports icon in the city of LA, Magic Johnson.  But it sounds like the Rams may have now picked up a new fan in the form of one of boxing’s biggest superstars.

According to an announcement first made by boxing promoter Tom Loeffler and then reported by ESPN, it appears that middleweight boxing champion Gennady Golovkin will be wearing the Rams colors when he steps into the ring to defend his title against Dominic Wade at the Forum in Inglewood on April 23rd.

Golovkin, born in Kazakhstan, now calls Los Angeles his home.  Shortly after the announcement by his promoter, Golovkin sent out his own message on Twitter to officially welcome the Rams to LA:

Maybe a strong showing by Gennady “Triple G” Golovkin will inspire the Rams during the upcoming season.  At the very least, the Rams may have one more high-profile fan walking the sidelines on Sundays.
