Jeff Fisher and Les Snead Give Statements On Blockbuster Trade

After pulling off one of the biggest moves in NFL Draft history by moving up to the number one overall pick with the Tennessee Titans, both general manager Les Snead and head coach Jeff Fisher gave statements on the move.

Les Snead

“Our philosophy has always been to build through the draft. The move is a reflection of that goal and Mr. Kroenke’s dedication to assembling a winning team on the field. We appreciate his commitment as we continue to improve our roster and lay the foundation for our future through this year’s draft.”

Jeff Fisher

Mr. Kroenke has  continuously supported us as we’ve developed our team to compete for the NFC West title and playoff appearances. In order to make a move of this magnitude you have to have a good trade partner. We appreciate working with the Titans on an opportunity that can benefit both organizations.”

First off…Mr. Kroenke’s dedication to winning? When has Stan Kroenke ever shown that he has been dedicated to win with this franchise? If that was the case Jeff Fisher would be lucky to still be employed. Kroenke moved the team to LA which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but that doesn’t automatically make him the greatest owner in sports. He still needs to win and show that “dedication.”

Secondly, it looks like the Rams are ready to take that next step and in order to do so, they had to try and make a move and get their franchise quarterback. Without doing that, they weren’t going to win. While going almost undefeated in Case Keenum’s case(pun not intended) was impressive, Keenum was not going to take the Rams to the playoffs.

The Rams are mortgaging the future for this year and getting their franchise quarterback and you have to respect that.

Jeff Fisher and Les Snead will both speak to the media on the blockbuster trade at 1PM PT. Stay tuned as we find out more details on this historic trade.
