Way-Too-Early Draft Grades For the Los Angeles Rams
WR Mike Thomas
With the 206th pick and their final pick, the Rams may have gotten the absolute STEAL of the draft. A lot of experts had Thomas going in the fourth round, so when he dropped to them in the 6th, to say the Rams were pleased is probably an understatement.
Thomas caught the highest percentage of contested balls in this class and his 2.98 yards per route run ranked 5th best of any receiver in this class according to Pro Football Focus. He doesn’t do anything necessarily special, but he works hard and and he has good technique.
Being drafted in the 6th round, not only did they get good value, but they get a guy that’s motivated to prove people wrong. There is a good chance he becomes the number two receiver for the Rams this year on the other side of Kenny Britt with Tavon Austin playing in the slot.
