Summary

Similar to last year in which the Rams focused on the offensive line, this year they focus on the offensive weapons and skill positions. They get their quarterback in Goff, a pass-catching tight end in Higbee, and then play-makers at wide receivers in Cooper and Thomas.

As of right now it all looks good in theory, but what needs to be remembered is the last time the Rams drafted a quarterback number one overall, Sam Bradford, Steve Spagnuolo and Billy Devaney also tried to put pieces around him. They drafted Mardy Gilyard, Mike Hoomanawanui, and Fendi Onubun in hopes they would grow with Bradford. Of course that wasn’t the case.

In order for this time to be different, it is crucial for these guys to grow and develop with Goff. Fisher has yet to prove he can develop young, offensive talent. That has t0 change for this to work.

When all is said and done, the Rams got better at the skill positions in theory. However, that’s all it is, theory. Looking back at this draft in three years, hopefully it is the corps of the offense.

Final Grade: B+
