Jared Goff vs. Case Keenum

As mentioned before, the Rams know the starting job at quarterback belongs to Goff–whether it happens this season or the next.

While the argument can be made that Keenum should start due to his veteran experience, the quarterback isn’t as experienced as most people think. During his first four seasons in the league, Keenum has only appeared in 16 games while throwing for 15 touchdown passes–meaning most quarterbacks have already gained more experience than him in just one season.

If Los Angeles was smart, they would throw Goff in the mix right away as a rookie to help him gain as much experience as possible and develop early chemistry with the rest of the offense. Even if he struggled early on (like he did during the first day of training camp) as a rookie, the early experience would certainly pay off in the long run for Goff–especially as the team’s new franchise quarterback.
