Lance Kendricks vs. Tyler Higbee

It sounds crazy, but don’t be surprised if Tyler Higbee ends up having an impressive enough training camp and preseason where he beats out Lance Kendricks for the top starting spot at tight end for the Rams.

If it wasn’t for an arrest in April, there’s a good chance Higbee wouldn’t have slipped to the fourth round in this year’s draft and Los Angeles certainly hope the risk pays off. When considering the former Western Kentucky star caught eight touchdown passes as a senior, Higbee finds himself in the perfect situation to make an immediate impact in the Rams’ offense.

After the departure of Jared Cook to the Green Bay Packers, Kendricks seemed to be the likely candidate for his replacement in the passing game. While Kendricks will still be heavily used on offense, the tight end seems to be a better fit as a blocker at this point with Higbee seeing more of the passes thrown his way.
