Greg Zuerlein vs. Taylor Bertolet

Normally, kicker isn’t the type of position fans seem to care about during camp, but Los Angeles finds themselves in an interesting situation this year in regards to Greg Zuerlein.

Based off his first two seasons (he drilled 26 of 28 field goal attempts in 2013) in the league, it seemed like Zuerlein would be the answer for the Rams in the long haul. Instead, the kicker’s 2015 season was nothing but a disaster as he only converted 20 of 30 field goals–making the team bring in former Texas A&M kicker Taylor Bertolet to give Zuerlein some competition.

Bertolet realizes how tough it is for kickers to make it at the NFL level and how the Rams may be his best shot when it comes to making a roster. Zuerlein has seen his share of moments over the years, but this competition seems wide open and it will certainly be fun to watch once the preseason games kick off.
