The Greatest Show on Turf

If there was anything to take away from this weekend, it would be Pace deserves to be the discussion of greatest lineman of all time and if it wasn’t for him, the Rams and their “Greatest Show on Turf” team may never have existed.

Pace provided his former teammates Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, and Torry Holt with the recognition they deserved on Saturday as football fans had flashbacks of the historical St. Louis squad that set numerous records from 1999-2001. Not only did the Rams make a historic Super Bowl run during the 1999 season (first one in franchise history), but that season marked the first of three-straight years with more than 500 points–which is almost unheard of in the NFL these days.

Not many lineman will be able to say they blocked for three-straight MVPs during their time in the NFL, but Pace can. If it wasn’t for Pace and his stellar play, the Rams never would have been as successful during this era and St. Louis fans will forever cherish these memories–even if their team is now in Los Angeles.
