Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee’s Fantasy Football Stock on the Rise
By Dan Parzych
Fantasy football owners are starting to notice Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee after an impressive preseason debut against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Los Angeles Rams knew they were taking a risk on former Western Kentucky standout Tyler Higbee by selecting him in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft–mainly because of his arrest last April. Every other team wanted to avoid Higbee due to their concerns over his off the field issues, but if Saturday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys is any indication, the Rams could turn out to have one of the biggest steals from this year’s class.

Higbee–who caught eight touchdowns as a senior–was already generating plenty of hype heading into the team’s preseason opener against the Cowboys and rightfully so after the way he’s played over the last few weeks in training camp. In limited action on Saturday, Higbee caught five of six passes thrown his way for 49 yards and as bad as it may sound, he looked better than any weapon Los Angeles had in their passing game last season.
Guys like Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt will be expected to carry most of the weight in the wide receiver department this year, but Highbee could turn out to be more of a reliable option as an effective pass-catching tight end. Whether it ends up being Case Keenum or Jared Goff, either quarterback will be lucky to have a tight end like Higbee as a weapon in the passing game.

And don’t look now–but Higbee’s first performance is already starting to catch the eyes of fantasy football owners looking for that mid-round steal in draft leagues.
