Rams’ Defense Struggles First Two Drives

One of the main reasons why the Rams managed to finish 7-9 last year was due to their defense–especially with the offense ranking near the bottom of the league.

For whatever reason, Los Angeles has looked shaky on defense during the opening drives of their first two preseason games and the team needs to address the issue before the start of the regular season. Not only did the Rams allow the Chiefs to march 75 yards down the field on the opening drive of the game, but they managed to do so on 13 plays and almost took half of the time in the first quarter off the clock.

To top it off, Los Angeles allowed Kansas City to convert on third down all three times during the drive and let Jeremy Maclin find the end zone with ease on the following one.

The only chance this team is going to have at competing in the NFC West this year is with a stellar defense and if that’s going to happen, Fisher better hope this team figures out a way to get rid of the early struggles. On the bright side, at least the defense shutout the Chiefs in the second half.
