Los Angeles Rams CB Lamarcus Joyner Fined For Preseason Ejection

The Los Angeles Rams find themselves in an interesting situation heading into the third preseason game at the No. 2 cornerback position–mainly because the competition appears to be wide open.

With Janoris Jenkins signing with the New York Giants in the offseason, the starting job alongside Trumaine Johnson has been up for grabs and with numerous players in consideration, nobody seems to have a clear advantage at this point. Lamarcus Joyner is one of those players with the potential to win the starting job, but his ejection from the team’s second preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs certainly didn’t help his cause.

Obviously, this type of ejection is only minor for a preseason game, but Joyner is the type of player who needs to be taking advantage of playing as many minutes as possible. While Joyner would be a solid fit as the No. 2 cornerback, there are other players like E.J. Gaines and Coty Sensabaugh who are strong candidates as well.

Luckily, Joyner will have another chance to prove himself Saturday as the Rams take hit the road to take on the Denver Broncos. The defense was the main reason Los Angeles was able to finish with a 7-9 record last year and it will be interesting to see how they match up against the defending champions.

For the sake of the Rams, let’s hope Joyner avoids an ejection this time around.
