2016 NFL Power Rankings: Los Angeles Rams Fall Heading Into Final Week of Preseason

27. San Diego Chargers (24)
With a healthier lineup, the argument can be made the San Diego Chargers would have been a much better team in 2015 when looking at how many games were lost by single digits. If this team is going to have any chance of competing in 2016, the Chargers are going to need everything they can get out of second-year running back Melvin Gordon.
So far, Gordon has been phenomenal in the preseason and the true test will be whether he can continue that success when the games become meaningful. The former first-round pick was a bit of a disappointment in his rookie season, but Gordon has looked like a completely different player in the preseason.
One of the main positives from San Diego’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings was the explosiveness shown by Gordon on his 39-yard touchdown run. After a disappointing rookie season, it appears Gordon is ready to turn things around and contribute to San Diego’s offense.
