Defense Finally Starts Off Well

The defense was the main reason behind the Rams winning seven games in 2015, but the team has struggled in that area at the beginning of games–especially on the opening drives.

After allowing the Dallas Cowboys to score right away in Week 1, the Kansas City Chiefs did the same exact thing against Los Angeles in Week 2 by marching down the field right away for a touchdown. It was easy to see the frustration from the Rams on defense against the Chiefs, but the starters looked good against the Broncos.

The fact that Los Angeles forced three-and-outs on Denver’s first two drives was a positive step in the right direction when seeing what happened in the previous two games. The Rams knew this matchup on the road would be their toughest test of the preseason to date and they deserve plenty of credit for how they looked against the defending champions.
