Rams Struggle in Red Zone

Prior to Saturday’s game, the Rams were a perfect 7 for 7 in the red zone during the preseason. So how did they make out against the Broncos?

Obviously, it’s never easy to score against Denver’s defense, but this was one of the main reasons why Los Angeles lost the game. The only way to beat a team with the talent level of the Broncos is to find ways of scoring touchdowns instead of settling for field goals.

As good as it was to see Greg Zuerlein finally get in on the action by converting all three field goal attempts, it was frustrating to see the Rams miss out on these scoring opportunities. When looking at the competition in the NFC West between the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, Los Angles knows those games won’t be won by only converting field goals.

Then again, this was an offense that ranked near the bottom of the league last year playing without Todd Gurley going against a top-ranked defense–so maybe the results shouldn’t be as surprising.
