Tavon Austin Has Zero Preseason Catches

Expectations are high for Tavon Austin after finding the end zone 10 times last year and the wideout faces even more pressure now that Los Angeles rewarded the former first-round pick with a hefty four-year extension.

The Rams haven’t seen a 1,000-yard receiver since 1997 (Torry Holt) and the team hopes Austin can finally put that streak to an end in 2016. While the potential is certainly there for Austin, there should be a little concern over his quiet preseason.

After he was targeted once against the Broncos and failed to record a catch, Austin has officially gone the entire preseason without a reception. And assuming Fisher decides to rest his wide receiver in the finale against the Minnesota Vikings, that means the statistic of zero receptions is going to stick.
