Without a doubt, the biggest surprise cut by the Los Angeles Rams over the weekend to trim the roster down to 53 players was Akeem Ayers as many expected the linebacker to be a key contribution to the defense in 2016. However, it appears the Rams are considering all options and there’s a chance the team could end up bringing Ayers back at some point during the 2016 season.

Head coach Jeff Fisher made a comment over the weekend that hinted at the possibility of Ayers returning to the team and based off what he said, there seems to be some sort of plan in place already.
When seeing this quote by Fisher, how can Rams fans not expect to see Ayers back with the team sooner rather than later?
Los Angeles originally signed Ayers to a two-year deal prior to the 2015 season after stints with the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans, but he only started 11 of 16 games for the Rams last year and only recorded a half a sack. With all of the wide receivers currently on the roster, it wouldn’t’ be a surprise to see Los Angeles bring Ayers back once certain players like Nelson Spruce and Pharoh Cooper return to full strength.
