Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher confirmed after Sunday’s win over the New York Jets that Case Keenum would be the Week 11 starter.
Jeff Fisher is putting the Jared Goff experiment on hold for now after announcing quarterback Case Keenum will remain the Los Angeles Rams’ starter in Week 11 versus the Miami Dolphins.
Keenum was by no means effective in the winning effort. He completed 17 of 30 passes for 165 yards and no scores or interceptions. The Rams had three unsuccessful red zone trips and were unable to take advantage of their limited scoring chances.
Once again, it was the Rams defense that bailed Keenum and the offense out, along with Greg Zuerlein. Alec Ogletree’s interception on the Jets’ last drive sealed the deal for L.A. and effectively helped Keenum keep his job after another subpar outing.
Fisher, however, doesn’t place any of the blame on his quarterback for the team only putting up nine points:
No QB change, Jeff Fisher said. "I'm not placing this on the shoulders of the quarterback. ... I thought Case did a nice job."

Before Sunday’s game, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Goff could get into next week’s game against the Dolphins if Keenum struggled. A nine-point effort with less than 200 yards through the air would certainly qualify as such.

No, but clearly Fisher is going to roll with him until the playoffs are out of sight. Fans hoping to see Goff are going to have to wait at least another week because the No. 1 overall pick is only getting in when the Rams’ season is in garbage time.
