Jim Harbaugh doesn’t plan on leaving Michigan anytime soon.

Michigan Wolverines head football coach Jim Harbaugh has no plan to leave his alma mater for the NFL.

Rumors have been swirling about Harbaugh possibly leaving Michigan in recent days, but according to one source, it isn’t happening.

Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman has the latest:

This isn’t exactly a surprising development, despite the fact that Harbaugh would be one of the most sought-after coaches in NFL circles.

The chances of Harbaugh leaving Michigan after just two years with the program was far-fetched to begin with. He has helped rebuild the program and has the Wolverines on the cusp of winning a national title.

This all started with a comment by MMQB’s Albert Breer, who reportedly told Colin Cowherd that a rumor of Harbaugh going to the Rams was “a very real thing.”

Apparently it wasn’t so real.

To think Harbaugh would ditch his alma mater for the NFL so soon is ridiculous at best. He has unfinished business in Ann Arbor and there isn’t a chance in hell he’s going to abandon the Wolverines for any job – at least not at this time.

Furthermore, as Freeman reports, he might be intent on staying in Michigan – where he is as close to a god as you can get – for the rest of his coaching career.

You can cross Harbaugh off the list of potential Jeff Fisher replacements. The Rams will have to look elsewhere to fill their head coaching vacancy after the 2016 season is over.
