Pete Carroll Reacts to Rams’ Reported Interest in Him as HC
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn’t planning on a move to Los Angeles after this season.
It only took one word from Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll to shoot down any chance of his coming to the Los Angeles Rams.
A report by Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson indicated that the Rams’ brass were interested in Carroll as a potential replacement for the recently fired Jeff Fisher.
However, Carroll made it clear he isn’t coming to Los Angeles, per Jack Wang of the OC Register:
"Asked Tuesday morning whether he’d like to comment on the report, Carroll said: “No. No comment on that.”Carroll was then asked if he’d like to rule out the possibility entirely.“Yes,” he said, laughing."
The idea was crazy to begin with. Carroll is the head coach of a perennial winner and Super Bowl contender, so there’s no logical reason for him to jump ship.

Besides, what did the media expect him to say?
“Oh yeah, I can’t wait to get the hell out of here to go coach our division rival in Los Angeles. I already have my bathing suit on!”
To get Carroll to come to Los Angeles would have taken a ton of wheeling and dealing. Aside from having to pay Carroll upwards of $10 million, the Rams would have had to send the Seahawks draft picks as compensation for letting Carroll out of his contract.
Carroll isn’t the first unrealistic name to come up in rumors for the Rams’ head coach search. Michigan Wolverines head football coach Jim Harbaugh has also been mentioned in rumors, but a report suggests he has no plans on leaving his alma mater anytime soon, if ever.
On to the next.
