Here’s a look at the updated 2017 NFL Draft Order heading into the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Even though the Los Angeles Rams don’t have a first-round pick this year, that doesn’t mean fans shouldn’t still be interested in the 2017 NFL Draft order now that Wild Card Weekend is officially in the books.
Thanks to the trade with the Tennessee Titans in order to move up in the 2016 NFL Draft and select Jared Goff, the Rams will miss out on the fifth overall selection this year as it will go to Marcus Mariota and company instead. After finishing with a 7-9 record in 2015, many expected Los Angeles to make progress this year instead of taking a step back, but that obviously wasn’t the case after the team finished with a 4-12 record during Goff’s rookie season.

Of course, Goff can’t be blamed for what happened since the rookie didn’t even make his first career start until Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. Even if Goff was inserted in the lineup earlier in the season, it’s difficult to imagine the Rams winning some of those games when considering it doesn’t change the fact how unreliable some of the weapons on offense ended up being.
There’s no questions Los Angeles would love to have a first-round pick in this year’s draft when looking at all of the talent level, but unfortunately there’s nothing they can do about it now. Instead, the Rams can only watch the Titans improve by adding another key player with the fifth overall pick.
