2017 NFL Draft Order: Updated Selections Heading Into Divisional Round
By Dan Parzych
17. Washington Redskins
At the end of the day, the Washington Redskins have nobody to blame but themselves for falling short of the playoffs when looking back at some of the games they easily could have won. What’s even more frustrating is all the Redskins had to do during their regular-season finale is defeat the New York Giants at home, and they still failed to take advantage of the situation.
Now, Washington enters the offseason with plenty of questions to be answered, starting at the quarterback position with Kirk Cousins. As bad as it sounds, Cousins most likely cost himself millions after throwing an interception late in the game against the Giants to seal the team’s playoff fate in Week 17.
Cousins has done everything he can over the previous two years to prove he deserves a hefty long-term deal from the Redskins, but it’s hard not to wonder if it’s going to happen after missing out on the postseason. It’s a shame that Cousins and Washington fell short of the postseason, or this conversation would be a no brainer for the organization.
Not to mention, it has to be frustrating to see the Redskins fall short after seeing all they money invested in Josh Norman on defense.
