JuJu Smith-Schuster could be on the radar of the Los Angeles Rams once the 2017 NFL Draft rolls around.

With their first-round pick going to the Tennessee Titans, it will be interesting to see which top prospects are still available once the Los Angeles Rams select in the second round at No. 37. Obviously, the availability factor is going to be key for the Rams, but when it comes to potential wide receivers to land, JuJu Smith-Schuster out of USC is a name to keep an eye on leading up to the draft.

Smith-Schuster has been one of the most popular players at the 2017 NFL combine when considering how many teams are in need of help at the wide receiver, and luckily Los Angeles was one of the teams smart enough to speak with the USC wideout. At the moment, there’s a good chance Smith-Schuster will be selected in the first round, but that shouldn’t keep the Rams from being hopeful he finds a way to slip to the second round.

Between the struggles surrounding Tavon Austin to Kenny Britt most likely joining a different team in free agency, Los Angeles will need plenty of help at wide receiver if Jared Goff is going to have any chance of succeeding in his sophomore season with the team. Even if the team figures out a way to land a big-name receiver in free agency, the Rams are still expected to focus on wide receiver in the upcoming draft.

As for what Smith-Schuster would bring to the table, the fact that he caught 20 touchdowns over his final two seasons with the Trojans shows why he’s considered one of the top receivers from this year’s class. Landing Smith-Schuster may seem like a long shot at this point, but it’s good to see Los Angeles taking the necessary steps by meeting with the star wideout at the combine.
