17. Minnesota Vikings
It’s weird to think about the possibility of Adrian Peterson playing with a different team other than the Minnesota Vikings in 2017, but give the team credit for making the tough decision on his release, and avoid overpaying a running back that only appeared in three games last year. Not to mention, Peterson will be turning 32 at the end of March, so the age factor is going to be a concern for any team showing interest in him moving forward.
If only the Vikings took the same approach with not overpaying their offensive lineman like they did with Peterson, they would be in much better shape so far in free agency. Snagging Riley Reiff away from the Detroit Lions was a huge move for Minnesota, but to reward him with a five-year, $58.8 million deal seems like a bit much.
Offensive line was certainly a major concern for the Vikings in 2016, and it’s easy to understand their desire to bring in a talented player like Reiff, but they better hope he lives up to the hype. For a team that finished 8-8 last year despite a 5-0 start, expectations will be high once again for Minnesota heading into their second season with Sam Bradford under center.
