12. Denver Broncos

Even if the Denver Broncos don’t end up landing Tony Romo following a trade or release from the Dallas Cowboys, the good news is the team still feels confident enough to rely on Trevor Siemian heading into Week 1 of next season. Of course, the best for this team to return to the playoffs after missing out last year will come down to the success of the defense.

When the Broncos won the Super Bowl during the 2015 season, the defense was the main reason behind their success, and even though they took a step back last year, all signs point to the unit bouncing back stronger this year. Stopping the run was a major issue for this team last season, but hopefully the addition of former Cincinnati Bengals star Domata Peko will fix that problem.

Keep in mind Denver seemed like a strong contender at the beginning of last year after a 7-3 start before only winning two of their final six games. Once again, the talent will certainly be there for the Broncos to be one of the top teams in the AFC, and hopefully some of their valuable contributions in free agency such as Peko will work out for the best.
