7. Oakland Raiders
So far, the Oakland Raiders have been quiet in free agency when it comes to bringing new talent on board for the 2017 season, but that doesn’t mean the team won’t be in good shape heading into next year. At the moment, the top priority for the team should be to make sure all goes well with Derek Carr‘s recovery process to make sure he’s fully healthy and ready to go for Week 1.
Depending on what ends up happening with Latavius Murray, who has ben drawing interest from numerous teams, the Raiders could be searching for another running back to lineup behind Carr in the backfield. Even if they do end up losing Murray, the good news is Oakland will still be in good shape thanks to having one of the league’s top receiving corps led by Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree for Carr to work with.
The Raiders finally ended their drought of losing seasons to emerge as one of the top teams to beat in the AFC last year, and easily could have advanced further if it wasn’t for Carr’s late-season injury. Assuming all goes well with his recovery process, expect Carr and Oakland to be serious contenders in the AFC for the second year in a row.
