5 Remaining Free Agents Los Angeles Rams Should Consider Signing
By Dan Parzych
3. Connor Barwin
The Philadelphia Eagles made the tough decision last week to release Connor Barwin, but from a financial perspective, this was a smart business move since it helped the team free up more than $7 million in cap space. And from Barwin’s ends, it seems like only a matter of time before the defensive end finds a new home for the 2017 season.
After spending the first four years of his career as a member of the Houston Texans, Barwin spent the last four years in the City of Brotherly Love as one of the key leaders for the Eagles’ defense. In fact, Barwin was even willing to make the switch from linebacker to defensive end, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be willing to make the change again with his next team.
Between a few departures along with missing out on a few key free agents, the Los Angeles Rams would be wise to bring in help at linebacker to at least put themselves in better position before the NFL Draft in a few months. Not only has Barwin recorded 22.5 sacks over the last three seasons, but he also hasn’t missed a single start dating back to the 2011 season.
Chances are Barwin won’t be available on the open market much longer after seeing all of the teams drawing interest, so if the Rams want any chance of bringing him on board, they better act fast before it’s too late.
