With the first week of NFL free agency officially in the books, here’s a ranking of the top seven signings for the Los Angeles Rams so far.
The Los Angeles Rams entered the 2017 NFL free agency period realizing they had plenty of work on their plates after seeing all of the areas in need of improvement, but nobody could have predicted the team to be this successful early on. Believe it or not, the Rams have been considered one of the early winners of free agency after the first official week to make sure they improve from last year’s embarrassing 4-12 finish.
When the new calendar year officially got underway on March 9, the Rams wasted no time making the necessary moves by improving the offensive line with Andrew Whitworth along with the receiving corps thanks to the addition of Robert Woods. While Whitworth was considered one of the top free agents from this year’s class at his position, Woods is one of those wide receivers Los Angeles hopes to see turn out to be an under the radar signings to help make life easier for Jared Goff.
Even of the defensive side of the football, the Rams managed to land two great additions to the defense with the two-year signing of cornerback Kayvon Webster along with a one-year deal for linebacker Connor Barwin. Only time will tell when it comes to whether these moves will pay off, but it’s hard not to get excited over Los Angeles appearing to move in the right direction.
Without wasting anymore time, here’s a ranking of the key signings in free agency so far for the Rams after the first official week.
