3. Connor Barwin

Why should Los Angeles Rams fans be excited over the signing of Connor Barwin on defense? Well, all fans have to do is look at Barwin’s first full season as a starter in the NFL when he was a member of the Houston Texans when coincidentally, Wade Phillips was his defense coordinator.

In that season, Barwin managed a way to record 11.5 sacks, and when looking at the production he was able to provide the Philadelphia Eagles over the last four seasons, the Rams have every reason in the world to be thrilled over this signing. The only reason the Eagles even released Barwin in the first place was to free up around $7 million in cap space, but one team’s loss is another team’s gain, as this move helped ease the pain of missing out on signing Jarvis Jones at linebacker.

The 22.5 sacks over the last three seasons alone prove Barwin still has plenty of good football left in him, as there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be able to make an immediate impact with his new team. Barwin may have been disappointed before over his release from Philadelphia, but the linebacker seems to be all smiles now that he’s going to be reunited with Philips for the 2017 season.
