Thanks to the team site for the Los Angeles Rams, fans will have a few key dates to keep an eye on for the offseason program schedule.
Despite finishing with a 4-12 record last year, the Los Angeles Rams are giving fans plenty of reasons to be excited about the potential surrounding the team heading into the 2017 season. Between the hiring of new head coach Sean McVay that will hopefully turn around an offense that ranked at the bottom of the league in 2016 by only averaging 14 points per game to numerous key additions in free agency, the Rams may actually have a shot to compete in the NFC West.
Obviously, the team still has a long way to go when it comes to proving themselves, but at least there’s finally some excitement surrounding the team now that McVay is officially on board. Not only should McVay’s presence provide a much-needed spark to Jared Goff running the offense, but one of the first moves made by the former offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins was hiring Wade Phillips as his defensive coordinator.
Only time will tell when it comes to whether these moves will pay off for Los Angeles, but at least the team is finally moving in the right direction after parting ways with Jeff Fisher before the end of last season. And thanks to the team site, Rams fans can at least make the time until next season go quicker by checking out some key dates for the team’s offseason program schedule.
From the team site:
- First Day: April 10
- OTA Offseason Workouts: May 23-25, May 30-31, June 1, June 5-8
- Voluntary Minicamp: April 25-27
- Mandatory Minicamp: June 13-15
It seems like yesterday Los Angeles ended their regular season on New Year’s Day against the Arizona Cardinals, and along with these key dates, Rams fans will be anxious to see who the team ends up selecting at the end of the month in the 2017 NFL Draft. Even if the team doesn’t have a first-round pick from the deal with the Tennessee Titans last year to acquire Goff, there are still plenty of big names that could easily slip to the second round for the Rams to strongly consider.
In the mean time, only one more week until the workout program officially begins for Los Angeles, which is better than nothing while waiting for the start of the 2017 regular season to hurry up and get here!
